This page lists the agreements used by Assembla.

Code Purchase Agreement

If you develop features and sell them to Assembla for a bounty, we will ask you to sign this agreement. You can download it in MS Word format or OpenDocument format.

Contractor Agreement

When developers work for Assembla on an hourly or weekly paid trial or retainer, we ask them to sign this agreement, which defines a contracting relationship and assigns Assembla the rights to intellectual property developed for this project. It imposes some other non-disclosure obligations which may become relevant while doing work for clients. You can download it in MS Word format or OpenDocument format.

The Singleton Development License

All of the Assembla copyrighted code posted here, unless otherwise marked, is released under the Singleton Development License. This is an open-but-not-free license that gives users of Assembla code the right to view, modify, and redistribute it, but only for development purposes.

The MIT License

Ruby on Rails and many components used in Breakout are released under the MIT License, a free software license.

Commercial Use License

Breakout will be available for private, commercial use under the terms of a straightforward license.
