Investment Professional Network Features

The core features help securities research consumers and providers seeking to:

  • Acquire and rigorously filter information from many sources
  • Build a base of proprietary research for competitive advantage
  • Diversify sources of research away from traditional brokers
  • Market and present research with application-only spaces
  • Respond quickly to market events, often in collaboration with co-investors, brokers, and research providers

The core features allow users to:

  • Accept and produce permissioned feeds for provider and peer-to-peer research distribution
  • Create feed aggregators for any security or issue that combine internal and external sources
  • Create private spaces and webs for proprietary research
  • Quickly contact any contributor
  • Providers can breakout related spaces from any security or topic, and make them available by application only, providing lead generation and distribution.

Although the core product is useful, there are additional features that I would like to implement.

  • Two-factor authentication. We would verify the identity of users, and issue them two factor authentication cards or similar credentials. With this mechanism, a workspace owner could verify the real identity of his team members, and a team member could qualify to be a member of workspaces requiring real confidentiality.

Trading Pit

The trading pit reprents a market in a particular security. We replace the front wiki page with a price graph and other views of trading activity. Ideally, I'd like this to be a high-bandwidth experience, with sound and visuals. That would be a fun jumping off point for more private communication and serious research. I'd like people to be able to click-to-talk with other people in the trading pit (Skype can do this). We can start with 15-minute delayed data, but I think it would be possible to have the public internet's only real-time price data.
